CONSTANTA SHIPYARD – A RELIABLE PARTNER FOR ANY TYPE OF SHIP-REPAIRS PROJECTS IN BLACK SEA
The actual geo-politic worldwide situation is inevitably affecting the shipping & ship-repairs activity.
Unfortunately, various incidents caused by armed attacks against commercial ships are more and more frequent, putting on risk the life of crew members and the integrity of ships
One of our traditional Clients, had a such misfortunate event in Red Sea and the affected ship (m/t Tigerlily) needed to be diverted to a shipyard in order to repairs the damages resulted on the attack
The repairs has started in a different shipyard located in MEDSEA, but later on, the Owners decided to move the ship for completion to Black Sea, Constanta Shipyard.
The main scope of works as initially declared by the Client was consisting of :
Ø Normal docking works: sea chests & gratings, anodes renewal (o/s), valves o/h, anchor chains ranging/cleaning/marking/calibration, rudder clearances measurement, tail shaft wear down measurements, propeller polishing, propeller removal and O/S aft seal overhauling;
Ø External hull treatment and painting (18 505 sqm): HPFW up to 450 bar washing, hydro blasting- pressure range 1200 - 2500 bars up to 9 380 sqm, 2 T/U & 2 F/C of paint application; treatment of the damaged are after steel renewl completion;
Ø Structural steel works: install already prefabricated up to 50 tons (O/S material - Side shell panels- 35t, Web frame structure panel- 15t);
Ø Staging: up to 1 000 cbm;
Having as a main aim to assist the Owners as much as possible , the Shipyard did efforts in reshuffling the DD slots, in such way the vessel to have an available docking slot on arrival.
Keeping in mind the specificity of this project and basis a very good cooperation between the Shipyard’s team and Client’s representatives on board, the whole scope of works was completed within the contractual repair period of 12 intermediate docking days, to the satisfaction of the Client, allowing the vessel to re-commence her trading .
